What Sewmetry does
Most sewists know the feeling: a shelf, a bin, or a whole room of fabric, and still buying more for the next project because you cannot remember what you already own, or whether it is enough. Sewmetry flips that. Catalog the fabric you own, then let the app suggest projects that actually fit it, so you make more from what is already there and waste less of it.
Catalog your stash
Keep a fabric stash catalog with the details that matter for a project: fabric type, amount, and what you have left after a cut.
Match patterns to fabric
Match patterns to the fabric you already own, instead of starting from a shopping list. If the fabric fits the pattern, the project is a real option.
Plan low-waste cuts
Plan cutting layouts that use the fabric well, so a project leaves less on the cutting table and more in the finished piece.
Track scraps
Track scraps and leftovers, so small pieces are not forgotten in a bin. Scraps are material for the next small project, not waste by default.

Who it is for
Sewists and quilters who already own fabric and want to use more of it, waste less of it, and stop buying duplicates. It is built to be mobile-friendly, so it works on a phone at the fabric store as well as on a computer at the cutting table. If you are just starting a stash, it gives you a place to record it from day one; if your stash is already large, it gives you a way to actually see it.
Questions, answered
Do I need an account?
No. Sewmetry runs in your browser and is local-first, with no account sync. Your stash starts empty in the app, separate from any other device or browser.
Is my fabric data uploaded?
No. Your stash stays in your browser. That is also why a wrapped mobile version starts empty: it does not share the browser stash, and there is no account sync to bridge them.
Is it really free?
Yes. The web app is free to use.
